I think that good teachers are either the most selfless
people in the world or certifiably crazy. Don't get me wrong, mothers and fathers are sometimes selfless too, but only for our own children (and sometimes not even then). Went to Samson’s class today to help out. They have twenty-five, six and seven year
olds in his class. The teacher had
students working on five different word studies to fit various ready levels in
the class. Some were cutting out words,
others were reviewing words, others were at the smart board doing a lesson with
him. That classroom was like a finely
tuned machine and this is only the third week of school. Teachers also must have some energy reserve
that us regular people don’t know about because after helping for 45 minutes in
the class I retreated to my quiet home for some hot cocoa and Netflix time while
the teacher had another 5 hours before the end of the school day not to mention
the work after school to get ready for the next day. Teachers are my heros! Side note: Being able to volunteer without
worry about being away from work too long and what people at work would think
was spectacular!
